Directions once you've popped out of the tube:
Walking north up Commercial St with the Sportec shop on the right hand side, past E1 cycles, about 50 yards on the same side of the road you'll see a small round blue and white sign that says Toynbee Hall on it. Turn into the walkway towards the tree and the fairy lights. On the left hand side is a stone archway with a door in it.

If you're coming from Brick Lane turn right onto Old Montague St then left onto Commercial St and Toynbee Hall will be on your left. The turn is just before the small round blue and white sign that says Toynbee Hall on it. Turn into the walkway towards the tree and the fairy lights. On the left hand side is a stone archway with a door in it.

Also . . The Ten Bells opposite Spitalfields Market, and on the next corner, The Golden Heart. Also, on Heneage Street (turn down Fashion St off Commercial, then cross straight over Brick Lane) is another cosy local, The Pride of Spitalfields.
